RAINBOWS is a peer support group program for children who have experienced loss through death, divorce or other painful transition.
Groups of 3 to 5 children meet for one hour with trained, caring facilitators. This program hopes to help children to accept the change in their family, develop coping skills to deal with their feelings, and share with others who have had similar experiences and grief. Games, discussions, stories and crafts are used to help learn about emotions, self-esteem, coping with changes, and forgiveness. Children develop friendships as they share their feelings with other children their age who may have experienced the same emotion.
The 14 week program begins in September and meets in the evening. Class size is limited.
